*NEW* Advanced Teen Enduro Clinic
Advanced Teen Enduro Clinic: 13-17 years old
For Teen Riders Ready to Send It
Your teen, ages 13-17 with advanced riding skills, will spend three days perfecting their technique, sessioning Oakridge’s most incredible trails, and progressing their riding to the next level with Coach Robbie!
We created this clinic after seeing a clear need: teens who have outgrown our Junior Intermediate camps but aren’t quite ready to jump on adult shuttles and ride all day without coaching and supervision. This is the perfect bridge. Your advanced teen rider will get expert instruction, practice time on air bags, and real trail sessions on some of Oakridge’s gnarliest descents. It’s the ideal next step before they’re ready to ride independently with the adults.
Coach Robbie’s 3-day enduro clinic focuses on advanced skills, high speeds, technical terrain, and building confidence through progressive coaching. This is for teens who are ready to push their limits in a supportive, supervised environment.
What They’ll Learn
Using air bags, ramps, the Diamond View Skills Park, and on trail sessions, Coach Robbie works with each rider to progress their skills in multiple areas. By the end of the weekend, they’ll leave more confident, more skilled, and ready to tackle bigger challenges. Some skills we will focus on:
Cornering Skills: Line choice, body positioning, braking points, and exit speed are a main focus throughout the clinic.
Jump Technique: Air bag time helps perfect jump techniques in a safe, controlled environment. Robbie’s air bags provide an invaluable safety net for learning the right technique in a safe & supportive setting.
Advanced Trail Skills: Switchbacks, steep sections, line choice on technical terrain, speed management, and flow. All trail rides include instruction and time to learn and practice these skills.
Important: This clinic rides advanced trails in Oakridge each day. Please ensure your teen has the skills, stamina, and confidence to handle fast, technical descents before registering.
Advanced Teen Enduro Clinic Schedule:
Friday, Saturday, & Sunday
Thursday Evening: 5:30-6pm
Meet and greet for all Junior Clinic participants (look for signs near the air bags area).
Friday through Sunday: 9:00am-1:30pm
Friday: We start at the MBO campus on the Westfir Portal, then shuttle to Dead Mountain (5+ miles of fast, flowy trail). We’ll practice skills, session on trail, and then head to the new Diamond View Skills Park for jump line fundamentals in a controlled setting.
Saturday: Shuttled ride on Alpine Trail, the crown jewel of Oakridge trails (10+ miles). The group will practice advanced techniques, session sections of the trail, and ride all the way back to camp. This is where everything comes together!
Sunday: Hop on the MBO school bus and ride Hardesty (5+ miles of technical, high speed, steep terrain). The perfect trail to put together all the skills you’ve learned and let it rip!

About Coach Robbie:
Coach Robbie was formally trained under the tutelage of Simon Lawton, owner of the prestigious mountain bike instructional program FLUIDRIDE. Lawton has taught countless World Cup riders, Red Bull Athletes and coaches, and passed on his methodology to Robbie. Lawton’s coaching, combined with Robbie’s experience as an educator, helped shape Robbie into a powerfully effective mountain bike coach. Robbie has taught and trained Evergreen MTB Alliance staff and instructors as well as professional coaches and riders in the PNW.
With an entrepreneurial spirit and penchant for the inexperienced rider, Robbie created a children’s specific program during his time with FLUIDRIDE. In response to Covid-19 he built and ran an outdoor school at Duthie Hill MTB Park in the Fall of 2020, supported by FLUIDRIDE.
Robbie teaches the distilled fundamentals of mountain bike riding, uniquely shaping his approach to relate to any student. Humans are bipedal and movement is the same for us all- but how we initiate and support movement on a bicycle is the basis of Robbie’s instructional method. With an iron clad understanding of perfect form, coach Robbie addresses fear, self talk, and progression in a safe and controlled setting.
Our Safety and Intention Details
The number one priority at Coach Robbie’s Airbag Clinic is the safety of all participants.
Coach Robbie’s approach is student-centric, playing off of the rider’s interests; engaging with them to create appropriate challenges and goals while having fun in a safe and supportive setting. Instructors will always be available for assistance, but participants are responsible for their own personal needs.
